A 38 year -old unemployed man who had sex with a 36 year- old imbecile at Kwashieman has been sentenced to 15 years imprisonment by an Accra Circuit Court.
Jojo Anderson charged with carnal knowledge of female imbecile was found guilty by the court after the trial presided over by Mrs Rita Agyemang Budu.
Prosecutor Detective Inspector Kofi Atimbire told the court that the victim name withheld is mentally derailed person residing with her parents at Been-to at Kwashieman, Accra.
Anderson lived with his family and two kids at the same vicinity. On April 12, at about 330 pm, the complainant (the victim) was returning home when Anderson lured her into his house under the pretext of downloading gospel songs onto her mobile phone.
In the process, prosecution said, Anderson had sex with her and the victim bled as a result of the act.
When Anderson noticed that the victim was bleeding, he sent her to his washroom and bathed her.
Inspector Atimbire said Anderson accompanied the victim to the house. On reaching the house the victim’s mother accused the convict of having sex with her daughter.
The victim without hesitation informed her mother that Anderson had had sex with her.
A report was made to the Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit at Odorkor where the victim was issued with a medical form to visit the hospital to be examined and treated.
Later, Anderson was picked up by the Police and arraigned.
