The Ghana Police Service has denied reports making rounds that it has opened recruitment into the service.
Some reports making rounds on social media Thursday indicated that recruitment forms were being sold at various points across the country for persons seeking to join the service.
But a disclaimer from Police Service issued by Police PRO Superintendent Cephas Arthur stated that the advert is not coming from the security agency and urged the public to ignore the story.
The statement added that “Police public notices are officially by the national dailies before any other medium. The public are hereby advised to disregard this advert in order not to fall victims to schemes of criminals…anyone with information on the perpetrators of this scam should report to the nearest Police Station.”

The Police Administration’s attention has been drawn to a story making the rounds on social media to the effect that the Police have advertised recruitment into the Service, and wishes to entreat the public to disregard it.
1. The said advert is not coming from the Police.
2. Police recruitment announcements are not jointly signed by the Vice President and the IGP.
3. Police public notices are officially by the national dailies before any other medium. The public are hereby advised to disregard this advert in order not to fall victims to schemes of criminals.
Meanwhile, anyone with information on the perpetrators of this scam should report to the nearest Police Station, or call Police emergency hotline MTN &Vodafone 18555 or 191 on all networks.
