One dead, several displaced by floods in Accra

The body of a 14-year-old boy has been found at Ablekuma Olebu after a heavy down pour in Accra Monday.

The boy according to reports, was said to have been swept away by flood which left several others homeless.

Those living at Ablekuma Olebu were said to have been trapped in their houses for several hours.

Those whose houses were submerged in the water had to either abandon their houses to safety, while those who are living in storey-buildings sought refuge in the top floors where they were trapped for hours.

An eyewitness, Nana Agyemang in an interview with Adom News said they found the lifeless body of the 14-year-old after the rains submerged.

He believed the deceased wearing a pink shirt and black shorts was carried away by the floods into a big gutter in a neighbourhood.

Nana Agyemang said they have reported the matter to the police to trace the relatives of the young boy.
