‘Mahama sold Osu Children’s Home, Psychiatric hospital secretly’?

The Mahama-led government has sold Osu Children Home and lands belonging to the Accra Psychiatric hospital to a private company, Member of Parliament for Assin Central has alleged.

The outspoken legislator who claims to have documents to back the allegation revealed that, the Osu Children’s Home land was sold for $12 million.

“President Dramani Mahama has secretly sold the Osu Children’s Home for US $ 12m to a private company. I have the documents of the transaction between the President and the private owner, he told Adom FM’s Parliamentary correspondent, Abednego Asante Asiedu.

The Assin Central MP noted that the transaction documents in his possession covers the sale of six acres land of the motherless home and also the sale of 16 acre land of the Psychiatric hospital.

He could not fathom why government will sell such lands when similar transactions in the past did not yield any results.

“My big question is, what are you going to do with the $12 million because they have sold a lot of state properties but cannot even account for them”.

Ken Agyapong opined that the owner of the supposed private company who bought the land is an NDC member helping to milk the state.

“I know they have sold the land to their own crony because Mahama and NDC will not sell anything to any genuine business man who is not a party man” he stated.

The NPP MP maintained that all the Mahama-led administration cares about is to enrich themselves at the expense of the suffering masses.

“They [govt] don’t care about you; they care about themselves and their pocket, and it is not good for this country” he bemoaned.

Ken Agyapong said he is worried about the future of the youth “that is why I always expose the rot in government. As leaders, we must lead by example”.

“I dare the President to come out and refute my claim, and I will release the documents,” he dared.
