The local Black Stars of Ghana were handed a defeat in their COSAFA Cup game against Madagascar on Monday. Coach Maxwell Konadu and his side were downed by two goals to one as they made their exit from the competition. Randriamanjaka opened the scoring with a nice free-kick goal for Madagascar before Daniel Darkwah scored a stunning volley from 30 yards to put Ghana level.
The local Black Stars missed a great opportunity to go into the interval leading 2-1 as Akuffo missed a chance after some superb link play between Saka and Asamoah.
A very late second half goal from Simouri sealed the deal for Madagascar as the local Black Stars were eliminated from the COSAFA Cup with the 2-1 defeat. The Islanders will play Namibia in the semifinal of the COSAFA Cup.
