Dan Quaye sets eyes on Stars

Rite Sports can exclusively reveal that, Former Hearts of oak and Black Stars defender, Dan Quaye, says he will embrace an opportunity to play for the Black Stars should Coach Avram Grant throw the challenge at him.

He said at 34, his energy could still take him further than what relatively younger colleagues could do during training and had what it would take to still play for the senior national team.

Speaking to Rite Sports in an exclusive interview, the Accra Great Olympics right back, who last played for the national team about a decade ago, said he was ever ready and would consider it an honour to play for the national team.

According to Dan, “if the coach decides that he wants to call him to the national team, he is ever ready because he  once played for the Black Stars “.

Quaye has been one of the players at the defence of Accra Great Olympics this season and, together with other veterans, such as Godwin Attram and Richard Kingson, have buoyed the fortunes of the wonder club.

Furthermore, the former Accra Hearts of Oak defender bemoaned how the media and the fans often killed the idea of experienced foreign – based players returning to play in the local league with name – calling and said Ghana’s league could be attractive if more of such players were encouraged.
