Rite Sports can exclusively revealed that, Ghana Midfielder Mubarak Wakaso is relishing a good season having been united with his mentor and former Ghana teammate, Sulley Ali Muntari, at Saudi club, Al Ittihad.

Wakaso who successfully underwent his medical last Monday, completed the switch to Saudi Arabian giants on a three- year deal for an undisclosed fee. He was a bonafide player of Russia club, Rubin Kahzan, where he struggled to shine, and was sent on loan to Scottish giants, Celtic last season.

However, the 25-year-old will join his new teammates, which include Muntari, at the club’s pre-season camp base in Milan.

According to our source, Al Ittihad’s move to sign the combative midfielder is said to have been on the recommendation of compatriot Muntari.

Following Muntari’s signing, Keven – Prince Boateng was another target for the Saudi club, but the German-born midfielder rather opted for a deal in Portugal, encouraging the club to consider Wakaso.

Meanwhile, Boateng is expected to sign for Sporting Lisbon today.

The former Portsmouth and AC Milan midfielder is jetting into Portugal to sign a two-year deal with Lions.

He was let go by Schalke at the end of last season and has been linked with several clubs during the transfer window though he has struggled to reach an agreement with any of them due to his high wage demands.
