By: Richard Dankwa:

The Mushroom Growers and Exporters Association of Ghana has noted the significance of joining the recent maiden Rite Agri Forum which was held on Wednesday the 10th of August 2016 in the Yilo Krobo Municipality of the Eastern region.

The core aim of the conference was to create the grounds for relevant inputs for the development of agriculture within the Krobo communities.

Among the several groups present was the Mushroom Growers and Exporters Association of Ghana. According to Rev. Theophilus Quartey, former president of the association in an interview with Rite news during the forum, their main motive for attending the forum was to get the opportunity to let the public know that mushroom could be cultivated. According to him, they were also bent on suing the platform to reach as many Ghanaians as possible to appreciate the need in consuming mushroom.

Rev. Quartey who had the opportunity to display some food products made from mushroom such as mushroom kebab, omelet, drinks, mushroom shito explained that all these products were good for consumption and also prevent the body from getting sicknesses like liver cancer, diabetes, reduce cholesterol and also boost the immune system.

He added his gratitude to Rite FM for organizing such a programme and recommended that, the next programme should be held in an open area to engage the general public.
