The Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture Development has received more donations from companies towards the 31ST National Farmers Day celebration scheduled for Friday, the 4th of December, 2015. The items include fishing products, plastic products as well as cash donations.
The companies include Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB), Premix Secretariat, SeaWorld Fishing Company Limited, Blue Dolphin, World Marine Company Limited. The others are Don Hai Company Limited, Quality Plast Company Limited, Red Tulip Food Limited and Rekona Enterprise.
The sector minister Madam Sherry Ayitey receiving the items on behalf of the ministry expressed gratitude to the companies for their support and called on other organizations to come and support the ministry to organize a colourful celebration.
The Corporate Affairs Manager of Ghana Oil Company Limited (GOIL), Madam Rosemond Awotwi Frempong, presenting 5,000 cedis coupons and oil products on behalf of the company said fishermen had played their role well by feeding the nation and therefore they need to be rewarded for the hard work done.
She added that GOIL will continue to support the fisher folks anytime they called on them.
