Agric director for Lower Manya Krobo has tasked farmers to be wary of the kind of agro chemicals they patronize from the various agro chemical shops.
Mr. Alex Fordjour in an interview with Austin Ofori Addo on Kuapa Yo said farmers were better off purchasing their agro chemicals from trusted agro chemical shops rather than from different shops all the time.
The agric director while stressing that the positioning of chemicals in a shop is also very important said farmers must patronize their chemicals from trusted sources rather than from different retailers.
“As a farmer, you need a trusted agro chemical seller from whom you’ll buy your agro chemicals, he said.
The agric director also counseled farmers to stick to agro chemicals they intend buying from the agro chemical shops, adding that they should not allow shop attendants convince them to patronize a different type of chemical.
“One must also resort to the use of agro chemicals from where you can buy your chemicals all the time,” he said adding that they must never change the chemicals.
He also said farmers must be well informed about the source of the agro chemicals and must understand the precautions of the chemical to enable them use it safely.
According to Mr. Fordjour, farmers must be well informed about the hazardous nature of the various agro chemicals to avoid poisoning, especially in the home.
