Majeed Waris out for three weeks after surgery

Rite Sports understands that, Ghana striker Abdul Majeed Waris has been ruled out for three weeks after undergoing surgery on his left hand.

According to a statement on the website of his club, the diminutive striker who was making his second appearance for the club suffered a fracture to his hand after landing awkwardly and is estimated to be out for three weeks.

Waris has a long history of injuries that has staggered a once promising career in European football. He has missed two AFCON’s due to injury and went to the World Cup in Brazil half fit after a breakthrough season with Valneciennes in the Ligue 1.

More injury trouble followed him during his time in Turkey with Trabzonspor, leading to him failing to land a regular spot in the team.
