Grant to invite youngsters for March friendlies

Avram Grant is set to make public his expanded squad for this month’s dual international friendlies in France.

Ghana have booked dates with Senegal on March 28 in Le Havre to be followed by Mali on March 31 in Paris.

Just as the Israeli gaffer stated in his recent press briefing, he is set to hand international debuts to a couple of young players making waves in Europe this season, supersport.com has gathered.

According to sources, Vitoria Guimaeres attacker Bernard Mensah looks set to be given his first senior call up after missing out on the Afcon 2015 provisional squad.

Also expected to make the cut is Ghana Under-20 World Cup bronze-winning midfielder in 2013, Seidu Salifu, who plies his trade in Tunisia with Club Africain, Ebenezer Assifuah and Alfred Duncan (Sampdoria) who trained with the Black Stars last December but could not make the Afcon squad. The latter has been capped once by the senior team.

In-form Leicester City wingback Jeffrey Schlupp, after missing the Afcon through injury, is set to return to the Black Stars for the two friendly games.
