Former best farmer backs Ghana to lead World’s cocoa, cashew production

The 2015 Goaso Munucipal Best Farmer, Nana Nimfour has welcomed the teaming up of the four ministries to Make Ghana the world’s lead producer of cocoa and cashews in some few years to come.

He said the collaboration of the Food and Agriculture, Local governance and Rural Development; Environmental, Science, Technology and Innovation ministries to invest in the production of cocoa and cashews at the Municipal and district levels are a laudable idea but needed commitment.

According to the veteran farmer, “the idea is very good but provided government will be committed to it.”

Nana Ntimfour told Austin Ofori Addo on Agric Forum that, government always come with good policy such as these but later pay lip service to it without any action plan of execution.

He has therefore encouraged the various Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) especially those demographical jurisdictions will be very good for the production to collaborate with the government.
