Yilo Krobo: Bright Inspiration Donates To Police, Markets, Others

A catholic priest in Yilo Krobo Municipality, Father Bright Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has donated Personal Protective Equipments, medical supplies and food items to some institutions, as part of efforts to mitigate the spread of Covid-19.

The institution that received the items include Somanya Police Command, Atua Government Hospital, Somanya Poly Clinic, Somanya Health Center, Market women at Nkurakan and Oterkpolu and Rite FM, radio station in the area.
Presenting the items, Father Bright Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, who doubles as the Parish Priest –at St Peters Catholic Church as well Director of Socio-Economic Development of Koforidua Catholic Diocese said, the gesture formed part of his widow’s might to help the fight against Coronavirus pandemic.
“The step also fall in line with the collective commitment to support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 3, which targets the reduction or eradication of maternal mortality, communicable diseases and preventable deaths, among others.
Items presented include face masks, hand washing soaps, tissues, alcohol based hand sanitizers, gloves among others to support the fight.
He has admonished residents of Yilo Krobo Municipal and its environs to strictly adhere to the Covid-19 protocols outlined by the government and the Ghana Health Service.
Adding that, the protocols though in the best interest of the people of Ghana, could not be achieved if the public failed to comply.
He further pleaded with individuals and corporate bodies to assist in their own small ways to help fight the deadly coronavirus.
He lauded the media, traditional leaders, security agencies, health workers and the market women for their hard work exhibited so far in combat of the pandemic.
Receiving the item on behalf of the security agency was the Municipal Police Commander, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Isaac Otsin who on behalf of the beneficiaries thanked Father Bright Kennedy Ohene Agyapong for his benevolence, called others to emulate same.
He also appealed to other entities to support the police and other institutions dealing directly with people to help mitigate the pandemic and also urged the drivers to adhere to the directives.
