We Need Assistance – Mushroom farmers

Mushroom farmers located at Anum in the Eastern Region are calling on the government and other authorities for the needed assistance to help boost their farming activities.

Mr. Stephen Gewu , a mushroom farmer at Anum in the Eastern region in an interview on the Rite morning show said, training are undertaken in the various regions such as Donkokrom, Akropong, Accra and Anum to educate women on mushroom farming.

Mr. Stephen Gewu said, they were faced with monetary challenges since they need money to support the trained women to enable them start up their businesses. He said several attempts to seek assistance from several many institutions and organization such as the MOFA and the Banks have been futile.

He therefore called on the government, NGO’s and other organizations to come to their aid. He said if government could pay attention to mushroom farming, it would generate more income compared to cocoa farming.
