The Eastern Regional minister Hon. Antwi Boasiako-Sekyere has told Rite FM that, there are some identified flood prone areas in the region and for that matter surveillance have been laid to control any flooding in the offing.
Hon. Antwi Boasiako-Sekyere speaking on the “Morning Ride” on Rite FM stated that he has ordered the regional NADMO coordinator, Mr. Ransford Owusu Boakye and the deputy regional minister Mavis Ama Frimpong to be on the grounds to put the necessary measures in place to educate residence at the flood prone area and keep them alert.
He therefore advised people in the region to take safety precautions and take a lesson from the tragedy that has befallen people in the Greater Accra last Wednesday.
He cautioned that there would be more rain so people should stop throwing refuse in gutters and keep the surrounding clean.
Finally, he admonished that people need to obtain building permit from the town planning before putting up structures.
