We Are On Course, Yilo Municipal Assembly Outlines Projects Undertaken

The Municipal Chief Executive for Yilo Krobo, Hon Ebenezer Tetteh Kupualor said the Assembly under his stewardship has embark on several projects, thus enhancing the livelihoods of the people.
Speaking during the Meet the Press organized by the Assembly on Moinday, he said, they have benefited from all government flagship programs including Planting for Food and Jobs and Planting for Export and Rural Development, which have provided job opportunities and wealth creation to the people of Yilo Krobo.
He said farmers within his jurisdiction under the PERD program received three thousand mango seedlings distributed among fifty five farmers.
’’Ladies and Gentlemen, another Program in the agricultural sector which is also going is the Planting for Export and Rural Development; and under this program, many farmers have received help from the government and it will interest you to note that three thousand mango seedlings has been given to fifty five mango farmers in the area to increase their production and income,’’ he revealed.
Hon Ebenezer Tetteh Kupualor further noted that “the impact of Free Senior High Schhol Program can be felt by parents and the evident is clear to show through the increase of enrolment in the various secondary schools.”

Adding, he said the Assembly in collaboration with an NGO has built a 6unit classroom blocks at Nkrankan Presby Primary, Somanya Methodist and Ogome Anglican Junior High Schools respectively.
In his speech, he said he has done a lot when it comes to roads in the municipality under the feeder roads. There are few roads in the villages that needs quick attention but due to the rain the machine is able to start the work but assure the people work will resume soon just after the rain.

Revealing, Mr Kupualor said, he has completed the extension of the Rural Electrification Projects to 14 various communities within the Municipality through the Ministry of Energy.

He added that the Municipality is benefiting a fortified fertilizer and briquette factory as part of government effort to industrialize the country (1D-1F), which will be completed by December, 2019.

He also said, the Assembly through the Ministry of Health is constructing an ultra-modern District Hospital at Somanya, along the Somanya Aperede road. The project he said is about 65 per cent complete.

Following the implementation of the Infrastructure for Poverty Eradication Programme (IPEP), under the One-million One-constituency fund, Tetteh Kupualor noted the Municipality has benefited from the construction (ongoing) three institutional toilets at Klo Agogo, Yilo Krobo SHSs and Presby Basic Schools. and also solar-powered mechanized bore holes at Tsosingua, Klo Begero and Akorwu Bana.

The rest are One District-One ware house in Somanya, a market shed at Akutunya – Somanya, rehabilitation of Klo Agogo Market and Yilo State KG block.

The MCE also used the platform to announce the completion of the first phase of the University of Environment and Sustainable Development. The University is expected to open in January with admission of first batch of students who will be trained for various disciplines.

He also hinted of four previous government projects he has inherited and completed. These are Kornokle irrigation dam, Klo Agogo clinic, Akorwu Bana polyclinic with mechanized bore hole and an ongoing Community Day SHS at Apersua.
