Updates On Eunice’s Suicide

Details are beginning to emerge concerning the reasons behind why 17-year-old former student of the Manya Krobo Senior High School committed suicide late Thursday afternoon.  Eunice Lartey was found hanging from a mango tree behind her home located on DC Road, a suburb of Somanya in the eastern region.

Eunice was said to have had some thorny issues with her parents as well as some frustrations with her personal life which could have accounted for her tragedy. Her mother, Miss Evelyn Lartey told Rite Fm’s reporter Austin Ofori Addo that she could not fathom the reasons behind her daughter’s strange behavior except that Eunice engaged her grandmother in some exchanges three days prior to the incident.

Residents were shocked on Thursday afternoon when Eunice’s body was found hanging from a mango tree moments after she was seen in the neighbourhood.

Reasons for Eunice Lartey’s strange action are still varied but residents who saw her just an hour before her lifeless body was discovered are yet to come terms with the incident.

District Superintendent of Police in charge of the Somanya police station, Albert Delatsa confirmed the incident and said Eunice’s body had been deposited at the Akuse hospital morgue pending autopsy.
