Traditional Medical Council Warns Practitioners To Acquire Certification

The chairman of the Ghana Traditional Medicine Practitioners Council for the Krobo District has warned all traditional medicine practitioners under his jurisdiction to acquire a certificate before practicing herbal medicine.

Hunua Kumador in an interview with Rite news noted that it was mandatory for all herbal practitioners to acquire a certificate from the ministry of health before practicing herbal medicine even if one already has a certificate from other member associations.

According to him traditional herbal practitioners who do not have a certificate have already been served notice letters to acquire one, a directive that has not been heeded. However, he assured that a follow up notice letter will be sent to them as a reminder before any legal action is taken against them.
