Tilapia Fair Comes off In the Month of October-Minster

The Minister of Fisheries And Aquaculture Development (MOFAD) Ms. Sherry Ayitey has confirmed to rite news that, the tilapia fair which is aiming at educating Ghanaians on the need to engage in fish farming to help reduce unemployment and also promote fish farming in the country is slated for the month of October.

According to her, a twelve member committee set for the tilapia fair has been inaugurated in Accra about two weeks ago to plan the activities towards the fair.

The committee which was chaired by Ms. Queronica Quatey the programmes Director for Action Aid Ghana was drown from the Ghana agriculture association, the agriculture research and development Centre, the ministry of tourism, Ghana industrial trawlers association, national fisheries association of Ghana, Ghana tuna association and the ministry of trade and industry.

Ms. Ayitey said, though, they have not yet decided on the actual day that the fair will take place in the month of October , they will soon come out with it and also bring out posters and billboards to create the awareness.

She emphasized that, they are going to organize the fair with the aim of creating the   awareness of employment opportunity in tilapia farming.
