Deputy Minister of Agric in charge of crops, honourable Alhassan Yakubu has stated categorically and unequivocally that the agric sector is moving in the right direction. This according to him is in view of the ‘bright’ prospects of the sector as stated by the president in his State of the nation address on Thursday.
According to the deputy minister, the president was right and hit the nail right on the head on his pronouncements of the bright prospects of the coffee industry. He asserts that this is wholly true in view of the large demands of coffee which is why there is a concerted effort by the nation to promote it.
Despite the fact that a lot of farmers have expressed dissatisfaction at the president’s failure to address specific challenges confronting the agriculture sector, honourable Alhassan Yakubu explained that the president could not have used the whole time to address their problems.
He urged affected farmers to channel their respective challenges to the ministry of Food and Agriculture and gradually they will solve their problems.
