Terlabi Has Failed…I Want To Redeem Lower Manya – Chawa

By Catherine Ahiador:

An aspiring Member of Parliament for the Lower Manya Krobo constituency in Eastern region, Mr. Riki Tai has taken a swipe at the incumbent Member of Parliament for the area, describing his tenure as a failure.

Riki Tai, also known as Chawa, a former National Democratic Congress (NDC) stalwart who is seeking the parliamentary ticket as an independent candidate told Rite FM’s Owuraku Asamoah that he is seeking to redeem Lower Manya from the doldrums because the MP, honourable Okletey Terlabie who is equally seeking a second term on the ticket of the NDC and whom he described as a disaster has woefully failed his people.

Notice of Mr. Tai’s intention came to light about two weeks ago when his posters began to be visible across the length and breadth of the constituency. Though he has confirmed his intentions to contest in the November parliamentary polls in Lower Manya, he denied being behind the posters, insisting that it was a sign of goodwill from the numerous people supporting and calling for his candidature.

On what motives he has up his sleeves and hence this move, he denied that it is informed by the fact that he lost out to Mr. Walter Homenu in the party’s chairmanship race in the constituency. He also denied that he was acting out of bitterness and hence wants to scuttle the party’s chances in the polls.

According to him, no one is pushing him into the bid, insisting rather that he is only exercising his right as citizen to seek for political office.

He resisted giving a definite date for the launch of his campaign since he in consultation with his campaign team would announce that at a later date.
