The desire of man on earth is to live a decent life, secure comfortable place of abode and get nutritious as well as socio-health well-being devoid of hustle, but the life of a seventy five year old farmer gives different version to these dreams as he grapples with life situation in the remote village.

Mr. Kwao Batsa who limps on the right leg in the Adensu community in the Upper Manya Krobo District has appealed to government and other benevolence bodies to aid him for a descent accommodation after several years of farming without a descent place of abode.

Mr. Batsa said, his failure to adhere to safety farming precautions has nearly resulted in  amputation of his leg at the Koforidua Central Hospital upon Medical advised which according to him rejected by the family in the process.

This wound he narrated, has rendered him limping after a gramazo chemical has dropped into the said wound unknowingly after spraying his farm for the farming season to take off seven years ago in an exclusive interview.

‘’I was pierced by a thorn while working on my farm without safety boots on the leg because it had rained the previous day while I was spraying the gramazo and some dropped into the wound, the poor farmer narrated his story.

A father of five (5) and a wife, narrated how deplorable his health conditions and his age as a farmer in the remote village who still engaged in active farming to earn a living. He has therefore appealed to government and other benevolence groups to support him with a descent accommodation and small business for his upkeep.

Even though, his children do send him some money for his upkeep in the village, it was inadequate for a descent living because his children do not have sustainable jobs for their living as well.

‘’ since I am unable to farm like I used to do. I will therefore be glad if government or any benevolence group support me to get my own a fitting accommodation.

He added that, despite his deplorable health condition, he  still engages in an acre maize farm and anytime he returns from the farm the pain in his leg around wound region does not give him a comfort sleep.

Kwao limbs on the wounded leg as he used knap sack machine for his an acre farming activities for survivals.

Although governments over the last few years introduced Agriculture intervention programmes including planting for food and jobs where seedlings and fertilizers were supply on the subside rate for farmers, Mr. Kwao however had no idea such offer exist. He lamented that he constraints with such information.

The bane of the industry players on the Agriculture value chain is lack of pension or insurance scheme of farmers. Low income earning farmers mostly wallow in poverty with low education for their children and sometimes poor place of residence for themselves and family.
