Somanya Ambulance Service In Distress

The Somanya National Ambulance Service is appealing to Philanthropists and individuals to assist them secure a garage for the ambulance and also get access to electricity.

The National Ambulance Service in Somanya has been delivering service to the people without a permanent garage for the vehicles as well as the constant struggle for stable, reliable electricity.

According to one of the staff, every ambulance is supposed to have a garage attached to a hospital but in the case of their services in Somanya there is no permanent place to safely park the ambulance after its use each day. He said, he lobbied for a garage at the Atua government hospital but he was not successful in that attempt.

A staff of the Somanya Ambulance Services, Stephen Quansah told Rite fm that they have no access to electricity supply and due to that they don’t operate from the place at night. He however assured the public that this shortfall notwithstanding, their services were still open and available to the general public.

He further advised the public to patronize the services of the ambulance rather than resorting to the use of taxis and other private vehicles because of the danger associated with it, especially to pregnant women.  He noted that all their staff have been trained in health assistance including taking deliveries, stressing that they have capable hands to manage these.
