The District Chief Executive for Shai Osudoku Hon Daniel Akufo has applauded the President of the land Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo for his contribution towards developmental projects in the area.
According to him, the residents and the traditional leaders in the area feels the handiwork of the President through the flagship programs of this current administration.
“It is therefore not surprising that the current government, under the able leadership of His excellency, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo in attempt to restore the lost hope of Ghanaians, has initiated a number of flagship programs aimed at bringing the economy of the country back to its former days”
“It suffices to say that, under One District One Factory, through the initiative of Ministry of Trade and Industry three (3) factories are currently operational in our District among which are a Tomato and Steel Factories established at the Industrial Enclave in Shai Hills” he revealed.
Hon Daniel Akufo listing the importance of the government flagship programs spearheaded by the President said its aimed at reducing unemployment in the area.
“The significance of these factories is to create jobs for the youth in the District. This in the long run will reduce the menace of social vices and give hope to the people” .
He said the Planting for Food and Jobs where Government has been supporting farmers to increase production of basic food to feed the nation; Planting for Food and Export and Rural Development (PERD), where farmers are supported with planting materials of selected cash crops to provide a sustainable raw material base for the establishment of One District-One Factory; the Free Senior High School policy aimed at ensuring that no child in Ghana is denied access to secondary education. The Ghana school feeding program which is to provide a sumptuous lunch for pupils in deprived communities and also serve as the ready market to promote agriculture has impacted positively in the life of the people.
In support of education, the Shai Osudoku District Chief Executive said the Assembly has collaborated with GETFund and Japanese Embassy and awarded educational infrastructure among them are: Construction of 1 No. 8-Unit Dormitory Block, Construction of 1 No. 6-Unit Classroom Block, Construction of 6-Unit Washroom for Ghanata Senior High School, Completed Construction of 3 Unit Classroom Block at Kongo, Construction of 12 Unit Classroom Block at Lanor-Osuwem, Construction of 6 Unit Classroom Block at Osudoku Secondary Technical School, 5 Unit Classroom Block at Ayenya financed by Japanese Embassy, Completed 3-unit Classroom Block at Estate D/A, Completed 6-unit Classroom Block at Osuwem D/A.
Shai-Osudoku District Assembly is also constructing 3-unit classroom Block at Ayenya and also awared the contract of 500 furniture to Basic Schools.
GETFUND has awarded 2-unit Classroom at Shai D/A, GNPC is also constructing 6-unit Classroom Block at Dodowa Islamic School.
Shai-Osudoku District Assembly has decided to award Ms. Kassim Firdaus the best performing Girl WASSCE candidate for 2019 for Ghanata School an annual scholarship of Five Thousand Ghana Cedis (Gh₡5.000.00) to enable her pursue her education.
“Assembly is informed of the inability of Ms. Kassim Firdaus to pursue her Tertiary education due to financial challenges.
He said the District Assembly and Ministry of Special Development Initiatives Projects under the 1 Constituency-One Million Dollars’ Programme are constructing a 3-Unit Classroom Block with Office and Store for Dodowa Methodist D/A Basic School, 2-Unit KG Block at Abuviekpong, 8 Seater WC facility at Dodowa Djagbletey, 10 Seater WC Facility at Natriku, 72 Open Market Sheds at Asutsuare and 10 seater Toilet for Larnor.
Adding that its refreshing to state that, the NPP Government led by His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo is doing everything possible to ensure that Ghana works for us and our families, not just for the rich and powerful and therefore called on Ghanaians especially Shai Osudoku to reward the president Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo with massive vote to continue the good work started.
