The 2012 presidential candidate for Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) Madam Akua Donkor has said that, the immigration and customs officers at the boarders must blamed for cocoa smuggling.
She alleged that, these security personnel always bumper some cocoa farmers to smuggle the cocoa beans through the boarders.
Madam Donkor speaking to Rite FM has condemned the act, adding that it will always affect the cocoa production.
According to her, the security officers from immigration and Customs Excise and Preventive Service (CEPS) who are posted on the boarders should have ensured that, there is no porous there to allow the smuggling of the cocoa beans but it is unfortunate that they themselves help others to indulge in the act.
She has called on the government to transfer these security personnel who engages in such activities to different areas in other to stop these cocoa smuggling.
