Rite Fm Contributes A Lot To Agricultural Development –Alex Fodjour, Others

The Agric Director for Lower Manya Krobo Municipality has expressed his acknowledgement and gratitude to Rite FM over the just ended Rite Agric Forum (RAF).  The event was held at the premises of the Ensign College of Public Health at Kpong in the Lower Manya Municipal of the Eastern Region.

He said, they (Agriculture Industry players) have leant a lot from the programme and they were going to integrate the ideas into their duties. He said the municipality will help to improve on agriculture production, value addition and creation of market avenues for farmers to market their products.

Speaking on the review of RAF 2017 with Captain Adabugar, the Agric Director said he was indeed very grateful for the opportunity given them by Rite FM by organizing such a programmed which brought people from all walks of life including the various stakeholders in the agricultural development value chain who have responded thoughtfully to the worrying questions raised by farmers who had participated in the event.

According to him, the Agric Directors under the decentralization system are not well resource to carry out their duties effectively and efficiently in terms of personnel and logistics.

“We are very grateful for these educational and problem solving programs which help us a lot as an Agric department by providing especially farmers with the appropriate opportunities to meet other stakeholders in the agricultural development and value chain which should have been our main responsibility.”

He said the manner in which the event was organize was just what is to be done by the Agric department by bringing  the farmers and other stakeholders such as financial institutions, agric technology and machinery experts, agrochemical dealers including processors of Agric products.

According to him, he wished the program could be organized every quarter since it will help him capture Rite FM in his quarterly report.

Mr. Fodjour has asked his colleague Agric Directors within the catchment areas to commend Rite FM to their superiors for reward.

“As an Agric station is doing very well in the development of agriculture and, we Agric directors in its catchment areas must comment on their contributions to our superiors for reward.”

In the same dimension, the President of Kokomma Youth Association of Ghana, Mr. Biyie Paul has revealed his appreciation on behalf of the group to Rite FM, the station for Agric and social development for its contributions towards agriculture development for the past ten years. He explained, the association has appreciated the reception and hospitality offered them during the just ended Rite Agric Forum (RAF).

“We have learnt a lot from the programme including the best farming practices, how to find market for our products, and having access to credits facilities from financial institutions to invest in to the farming.”

On the other hand, madam Hilda Huadji who is the director for Women In Agric Development has lauded women participation in this year’s event but expressed worry over the inability of fisher folks to take part in the event.

“I was expecting to see more participants from the fisher folks because they are also part of agricultural production that needed some education on how to go about their business in the field of fishing as well as market avenues for their products,” she  said.
