Pork Is Safe For Consumption

Mr. Samson Dzidzornu, a successful livestock farmer with specialty in pig production in Akuse in the Lower manya Krobo Municipality of the Eastern region has revealed and urged all to patronize pork. This according to him is in spite of the fact that contrary to the many fears associated with the consumption of fat; pork is very safe for consumption despite its fatty nature.

To buttress the fact that the meat was safe, Mr. Dzidzornu stated that most Ghanaians and foreigners consumed the meat of the pig without fears because they were very much aware that it caused no harm for the body.

On the larger scale of pig rearing, he noted that vaccination was very important in the rearing of pigs. According to him, vaccination of the young is very important in guarding them against being attacked by diseases, adding that pig farming is very profitable even when compared to other livestock such as cattle.

On what goes into pig farming, he noted that the first and most important thing was where to house the animals known as the sty. That is not all; he also mentioned the provision of adequate water because according to him, pigs are animals which depend mostly on water.

He equally mentioned that adding feed brand and rice brand to their diet helps them mature within six months whereby they will be ready for marketing.
