Poor Rainfall Was Our Bane

National Best Farmer 2013, Mr. Karim Awudu from the Northern Region has reiterated the challenges that farmers had to endure last year as a result of the devastating climate change experienced over the year.

Mr. Karim made the point on the Akuafo Se Sen segment of the Rite Morning Ride on Tuesday. A distraught Mr. Karim lamented that farmers in the country especially in the Northern Region did not get enough rain to boost their production and this really affected their output.

This is because they depend mostly on the rain for cultivation they don’t have access to irrigation. He added that most Ghanaians were comparing last year’s climate situation to that of 1983 but he played down on that comparison.
