Our Mangoes Are Dying –Mango Farmers

By Austin Ofori Addo:

It appears as though the effects of the harsh weather conditions in the country will see no immediate ease. As many farmers continue to pour their hearts out regarding the devastation the phenomenon has on their farming activities, mango farmers in the country have also added their voice.

According to the affected farmers, the phenomenon is really affecting the activities of mango farmers in the country, complaining that their mangoes are drying up as a result of lack of rainfall.

Speaking to Mr. Odzeyem Joseph, former chairman of the Yilo Krobo Mango Farmers, he said that the soil was now dried with no water which is badly affecting the survival of the crops.

He added that though termites are equally a problem to them, they, unlike the climate change are no major threats as they can be controlled with chemicals.
