Nkawkaw based club Okwahu United are the winners of the maiden edition of the Eastern Regional Special Cup 2019 after beating Kade United in the final game held at the Dawu Park. The two traditional clubs in Eastern Region faced off in the finals of the Maiden edition of the Eastern Cup, where Okwahu United thrashed Kade United by 3 – 0 to win the trophy.
A brace from Striker, Kelvin Tetteh and a goal from MaClean Ampadu was enough to secure victory for the ‘Asaase Aban Boys’ in the final game which ended their 33-years trophy hunt in the country. Eastern Regional Football Association Vice Chairman, Mr. Linford Boadu Asamoah, and a host of dignitaries graced the occasion.
The victory guaranteed Okwahu United the sum of Ghc 5, 000.00 as prize money, trophy and Gold medals while Kade United pocket Ghc 3,000.00 with silver medals.
