New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Manhyia North constituency has branded the party’s deputy General Secretary, Nana Obiri Boahen, a “stomach politician”.
According to Collins Owusu Amankwah, the party’s deputy scribe is in bed with the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) and has been tasked with working to scuttle NPP’s chances of winning next year’s elections.
His comment comes after Nana Obiri Boahen named the MP as part of the anti-Akufo-Addo faction scheming to keep the party in opposition.
During a banter on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme on Wednesday, the livid legal practitioner accused some “senior elements’ within the party of flirting with some people in government.
Nana Obiri Boahen said the party would deal with moles flirting with government to ensure a resounding victory for the NPP in 2016.
In a quick rebuttal, Collins Owusu Amankwah said the conduct of the Deputy General Secretary smacks of hypocrisy and double standards.
He indicated that Obiri Boahen only champion issues to please flagbearer Nana Akufo-Addo and not the entire party.
“Obiri Boahen is a stomach politician; he is working with the NDC to keep us in opposition,” he stressed.
The Manhyia North MP accused his party elder of working to ensure his defeat in the upcoming primaries in the constituency.
“Obiri Boahen is behind all the injunctions stopping us from organising the primaries at Manhyia North,” he alleged.
Collins Owusu Boateng vowed to expose his party elder if he does not stop his diabolic antic against him.
