No Time Sheet No pay; NABCO recruits warned

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, launched the Nation Builders’ Corps (NABCO) in 2018, which is aimed at employing 100,000 young graduates to assist in the public sector service delivery needs of Ghana.

NABCO’s central focus is to create employment avenues and opportunities for young graduates from accredited tertiary institutions and enhance the dignity and self-esteem of the country’s graduates, as well as present them with added benefits of efficiency and effectiveness in the delivery of some essential public services.

The CEO of the Nation Builders Corps (NaBCo), Dr Ibrahi Anyars has said all seven modules of the policy have been successful so far and are doing very well. Touching on the challenges the policy faced regarding payment of salaries to beneficiaries, Dr. Anyars assured that his office has no interest in delaying salaries and that the delay was mostly as a result of some inefficiencies in the payment data supplied by beneficiaries.
Meanwhile a group of Nation Builders Corps (NABCo) recruits are protesting the delay in payment of their allowances

Some of the NABCO recruits who spoke to Rite News expressed their frustration at the delay in the payment of the allowances despite meeting all the validation requirements. Speaking to Mr Seidu Ibrahim, the Eastern Regional coordinator of the Nation Builders Corps on Rite Morning Ride, he said authorities are working very hard to make sure the program meets the mandate by which it was established and so far the program is making a positive impact in the lives of Ghanaian youth.

According to him, the secretariat has adopted measures to check punctuality within the program therefore using Time Sheet as a strategy to archive this goal. ‘’We have introduced something called Time Sheet to check lateness and punctuality within the NABCO workers for the betterment of the program and we believe this will yield good fruit’’ he narrated.

He said NABCO recruits who fail to use the Time Sheet should forget their salaries because it will be assumed that they did not discharge their duties assigned. ‘’Those who refuse to use the Time Sheet should forget about their salaries because you will be paid according to the report from the Time Sheet from the line managers approved by the Municipal or District coordinators for its authenticity’’ he explained.

Mr Seidu Ibrahim further assured Eastern Regional NABCO workers that their salaries will be paid and therefore must look up to the NABCO secretariat, he further urged them to work tirelessly and contribute their share to the national development.
