Newly Elected Assembly Members Urged To Be Agent Of Development

The deputy Local governance minister who doubles as NPP Member of Parliament (MP) for Offinso North, Hon Augustine Collins Ntim on Monday charged the yet to be inaugurated Assembly Members to be agents of change as they stand to protect the interest of their electorate.

The deputy Local governance minister speaking to Rite News said, the fundamental development of the country is the responsibility of Assembly Members, thus the reason the people entrusted them the nod to represent and guarantee them development of their electoral areas.

The deputy minister appeals to the newly elected members to initiate enough revenue mobilization in their areas to cushion internally generated funds for the Assembly.

According to him the revenue, when mobilized will help ensure maintenance culture and provision of infrastructure and social amenities for their various electoral areas.

He said, after the upcoming nationwide simultaneous inauguration of newly elected assembly members on Thursday, January 23, 2020, he has urged them to obey the Standing Orders of the assembly to help drive the agenda and smooth running of the Assembly.
