The Eastern Region coordinator of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) has told Rite fm that his outfit has no relief items for victims in case there should be a disaster in the region.
Mr. Ransford Owusu Boakye speaking on Rite fm’s Morning Ride today stated emphatically that the Eastern Region NADMO has been in short of relief items for almost four (4) months “we have no single item in stock” he noted.
Mr. Ransford Boakye mentioned that he has sent request to the national headquarters for some relief items but is yet to receive any, attributing the delay in releasing the items to financial difficulties the country is currently facing. He recalled that though they are in short, there has been emergency situations they responded to therefore he is optimistic there can attend to emergency situations.
Explaining their readiness, he noted that, his outfit will collaborate with the police, fire service and others for their expertise advice before leasing items to any affected persons.
He cautioned Ghanaians to be vigilant and careful to prevent any further disaster since the rains has just began.
