Member of Parliament for New Juaben South Constituency in the Eastern Region, Dr. Mark Asibey Yeboah has fingered President John Dramani Mahama for the financial mess created by DKM, Jester Motors and others in the Brong Ahafo region.
He said the people of Brong Ahafo Region should heap the mess on the doorsteps of President Mahama and the first lady because they were aware of the illegality and even boosted with the existence of DKM, Jester Motor, God is Love and others.
According to him, the Bank of Ghana registered DKM and others as a Micro Finance Company in the Brong Ahafo Region and needed to be supervised and regulated as such.
He said, DKM and others, veered off their core mandate and started doing savings and loans and succeeded in deceiving the majority of the people in the region to invest their monies in the company for over 50% return on investment.
“Interestingly, they indulged in unrelated business aside what they have been mandated to do, the President, Bank of Ghana and regulators were much aware of it but didn’t act for reasons best known to them. Look, government must be truthful to the people of Ghana,” Dr. Asibey Yeboah noted.
He indicated that President John Mahama and his wife was at a point in time boasting and campaigning that, his government brought DKM and others which is helping boost the economy of the Brong Ahafo Region.
He said, President Mahama, the first lady and Bank of Ghana knew very well what was happening in the region but did not bother to stop DKM and others from syphoning the people’s money.
The New Juaben South MP who is also an economist indicated that certain statements and testimonies from the president and his wife whipped people’s interest in withdrawing their monies from the commercial banks to invest in DKM for astronomical return on investment.
He has therefore called on the people of Brong Ahafo and victims of the financial mess to pay back the president on November 7th by voting the President out.
Dr. Mark Asibey Yeboah told Adom News’ Maxwell Kudekor after a keep fit exercise which came off in Koforidua over the weekend.
“Many people are reported dead, others have lost their marriages, we are told, the people of Nkoranza were brainwashed that DKM and others were introduced to the region by the first lady so they had confidence in investing in the company.
There is no way John Mahama and the first lady can be exonerated from this mess. They caused it and must pay dearly for it. Who is the leader of the government? It’s John Mahama, he is an executive president, he has powers to stop any illegality but he didn’t it. Meanwhile, he was aware of the development” Asibey Yeboah disclosed.
