The Western Regional Director of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, Alhaji Ziblim Salifu says his outfit has started cassava plantations in twenty two Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies.
The project is being sponsored by West Africa Agricultural Plantation Project.
Alhaji Salifu said GBC Twin City Radio has been engaged to educate farmers and the public on the use of appropriate technology.
He added that the current system where farmers are into secondary multiplication will soon change into tertiary multiplication in all the twenty two Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies.
Alhaji Ziblim stressed the need for farmers to go into cassava production adding that it is an integral source of income and food security for Ghana.
