A new Akwenor Chief under the stool name Nene Asare Odokor II was enstooled for the people of the Akwenor Division in the Manya Krobo traditional area.
Akwenor is one of the six divisions, namely: Jebiam, Dorm, Piengua, Suisu, Manya and Akwenor that forms the Manya Krobo Traditional Council.

The enstoolment of Nene Asare Odokor II has come to fill the 32 years traditional rulership vacuum following the demise of his predecessor, Nene Asare Baah III in 1987.
Kingmakers of the Akwenor Shiome Ngonya royal family have taken the new chief through training and pacification, where he (Nene Asare Odokor II) was outdoor to the elders and the entire public at Kpadorm, the ancestral home of settlement when migrated from Nigeria.
The new chief is 63 years of age and currently working at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Meanwhile, his major profession is farming.
Elders and observers
Nene Asare Odokor II is calling on all and sundry of the Akwenor Division to come together in the name of unity and peace to promote development of the entire Krobo enclave.
He has, however, bemoaned the alarming rate of youth unemployment, school drop-out and teenage pregnancy as worry trend retrogressing the Krobo states.
