Madam Theodosia Okoh, the designer of Ghana’s national flag has had a state burial at the forecourt of the State House in Accra.
Her funeral was graced by top officials from government, family members, sports gurus, friends and sympathizers.
Her remains was interned at the Osu Cemetery.
The thanksgiving service will however, be held at the Ridge Church on Sunday after which the family will gather at her residence for the final funeral rites.
The 92-year-old illustrious designer died April 19, 2015 after a short illness.
Celebrated for designing the national flag, Madam Theodosia was also acknowledged in sports.
She was Ghana’s former national hockey star and through her efforts helped built the national hockey pitch which was later named after her after much controversy.
For her love of the game, even at her old age, she chaired the Ghana Hockey Association.
Theodosia Salome Okoh was born on June 13, 1922 to Reverend Emmanuel Victor Asihene, a former moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana and Madam Dora Asihene, both from Anum in the Eastern Region.
