Lower Manya Krobo Health Directorate Holds Annual Review Meeting

The Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Health Directorate of the Lower Manya Krobo municipality on Thursday held its 2015 Annual Performance Review meeting at Kpong in the Eastern region. The meeting which was held at the Conference Hall of the Ensign College of Public Health was under the theme, “Improving Maternal and Child Health Through Improved Partnership And Quality of Health Service.” The purpose of the meeting was also aimed at Debriefing the PICCAM strategy at ending preventable maternal and neonatal mortality in the Eastern region.

Addressing participants, District Director of Health Services of the Lower Manya Krobo municipality, miss Offei congratulated health workers in the district for their hard work and dedication to duty over the years-particularly the period under review. She emphasized that the performance of the health sector in the municipality was very critical to the overall progress and development of the region.

This according to her therefore raised the need to periodically make careful evaluation of the municipal performance so as to constantly put in place measures that allow the service to effectively apply its strength and utilize the available resources.

The event was graced by a number of personalities such as the Regional Director of Health Services, Paramount Queen mother of the Manya Krobo Traditional Council, Medical Superintendents of the Atua, St. Martins and the Atua Government Hospitals, health practitioners from the municipality as well as several other participants.

The occasion was also used to give out Certificates of Honour to deserving institutions and individuals with the Akuse Government Hospital coming tops in the best hospital category. Other winners included Nuaso CHPS for the best CHPS category, Kpong sub-municipal as best sub municipal as well as Mr. Godfred Caesar who won the best SHEP coordinator for the Lower Manya Municipality.
