KENYAN TRADE MISSION ORGANISES BUSINESS FORUM IN GHANA

The Kenyan Mission to Ghana in partnership with the ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration organized a three day business forum at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) of which Rite Fm participated in the second day in the persons of Mr. Jonnie Addo Fening and Samuel Obeng

The forum was organized following a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between Ghana and Kenyan Government to strengthen the bilateral relationship especially trade between the two countries and for that matter, the forum brought on board players in the trade industry the Ministry of Food and Agriculture ( MoFA) Ghana Investment Promotion Council (GIPC), Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA), Ghana Chamber of Commerce (GCC), Ministry of Trade and Industries including private investors

The GIPC which is to promote investment between the two countries took the Kenyan Delegation and the participants at the forum through its core mandate and why there is the need for foreign investor to invest in Ghana.

A documentary showing the potentials and opportunities in investing in Ghana dubbed “Think Ghana Has Made It” was shown at the forum.

After presentations participant had the opportunity to ask questions. Mr. Maxwell Comey was very passionate and frustrated concerning protecting private investors by the government.

He questioned the government’s role in making sure that private investors are well protected anytime the government called on them to invest in the economy.

Mr. Comey said ”private investors are being embarrassed anytime they needed land for Agricultural purposes”. He therefore suggest that the government can assist them on how agricultural lands should be acquired.
