The Yilo Krobo Commander of Motor Traffic and Transport Department, ASP Kwesi Yeboah has said, that although there has been an increase in car accidents in the country, accidents has reduced in the municipality.
Although there has been some cases of accidents recently on the Akuse-Asikuma road and its environs, they are trying their best to educate drivers, pedestrians and all road users on the proper use on the roads. Asking drivers to abstain from drinking alcohol while driving and pedestrians should also wear bright colours rather than dark colours to make it easier for drivers to see them at night. He finally called upon the road and safety commission to help eradicate road accident.
Responding to this, the Volta Regional Manager of the National Road and Safety Commission, Mr. Kwesi Yirenkyi added that educating the general public on the proper use of the road is very essential.. Road Safety means ways and means of preventing road accident or causes of road accident and there are mechanisms and structures to prevent accident or reduce road accidents he said.
