INJARO Investment Gives GH₡10,000 Towards 1st National Agric Summit

The Summit, an initiative of The National Food and Agric Show (FAGRO) Secretariat, is aimed at providing a platform for key stakeholders to deliberate on pertinent issues in the agricultural sector.
Making the Presentation, the Managing Director of Injaro investment  Advisors Limited, Mr Jerry Parkes, said the company was impressed with the effort and determination of FAGRO in developing Ghana’s agriculture sector.
He noted that Injaro Agricultural Venture Capital Limited, a fund managed by the company’s private equity team, intends to increase its investments in Ghana’s agricultural sector to 13 million US dollars by 2018.
“A country without a developed agricultural sector cannot build a strong industry and without a vibrant industry the economic growth will be restrained. That is why significant investments  investments need to be directed towards the sector to capitalize on the natural resources and lands at our disposal to close the agriculture gap between West Africa and the rest of the world,” he said.
Mr Parkes noted that the fund’s existing portfolio in Ghana comprises companies that are making significant contributions to Ghana’s agricultural sector.
He said Injaro investment sees the agricultural sector as an opportunity to achieve a positive social impact and to make strong financial returns through well structured investments in the right companies.
“FAGRO is one of the many institutions that play a very important role in bringing together key actors in the agricultural industry and creating critical linkages that will catalyse the growth we need in this sector and we are happy to support them in this maiden Summit,” he added.
The General Manager of FAGRO, Ms.Alberta Nana Akyaa Akosa, thanked Injaro investment  for recognizing the secretariat’s vision in championing the development of the agricultural sector.
She said the Summit will attract about 150 influential executives and decision-makers, drawn from a cross-section of active major players in Ghana’s Agric sector to primarily discuss issues, identify potentials and opportunities in the sector for the youth and women.

Ms Akosa said the Summit would offer participants the opportunity to understand and tackle in-depth, key agric commercial issues with case studies focusing on particular areas of opportunity among others.
She urged other institutions to emulate the kind gesture of Injaro investments Advisors Limited to help build a vibrant agriculture sector.
