I’m not aware of dumsor vigil – ‘lil Wayne’

Popular actor Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as ‘lil Wayne’ said that ”Kumasi-based actors have been left out in the much publicised celebrity vigil against the unstable power supply in the country”.

Three screen icons Yvonne Nelson, Lydia Forson and Sarkodie are organising the #Dumsormuststop vigil on May 16 to compel the John Mahama-led administration to find immediate solution to the blackout.

Many other celebrities from different fields of the industry have also declared their support for the power campaign.

Lil Wayne said the entire Kumawood has not been informed of the planned protest.

“I’m not aware neither is any of my colleagues aware of this march.

“Our union in Kumasi has not been informed of this and so we have no idea what is happening in Accra. Sometimes, we get the impression that they don’t consider us as celebrities too”.

“However, I believe if they choose the appropriate and civil way of communicating their concerns over the situation, the government will be more inclined to listening to them,” the comedian noted in the local Twi dialect.

He, however, noted that he would have considered joining the protest if he had been invited since the situation is affecting every Ghanaian.
