Some fisher folks in the country continue to complain bitterly about what they call the high cost of feed in the country which is killing their fish farming business.
According to Mr. Francis Gabrah, a fish farmer, about 80% of the entire cost of their production goes into the purchase of feed for the fish due to its high cost.
Speaking on the Rite Morning Ride this morning, Mr. Gabrah explained that majority of the feed they use for their business is imported which invariably shoots the prices high.
He noted that some Chinese have also joined the tilapia farming business which is a treat to them as the prices of the fish from them come cheaper, thus badly affecting their sales.
