High Cost Of Feed Affecting Poultry and Egg Production

Manager for Horeb-Reo Farmers, Mr. Divine Dentch Dolph has in an interview with Rite news revealed the troubling developments of the decline in egg production in the country. This he attributes to the rising cost of feed on the market.

According to Mr. Dolph, majority of farmers depend on the already prepared feed which the birds prefer more as compared to the locally made.

He said even though their cost of production was high, the price of eggs on the market is relatively cheaper as market women determine the price of the poultry farmers.

Egg consumption in Ghana has increased due to its high nutritional levels that support the development of the human body; this is why the decline in its production comes as a worrying development.
