Despite some controversies surrounding the consumption of pork as to whether it was proper or not to consume it, the meat is consume largely all over the world and Ghana is not excluded most Ghanaians would still prefer pork to any other meat at every occasion.
In view of this Rite News spoke to the Director of Prime Pork Limited at Akorley in the Yilo Krobo Municipality, Mr David Marley who explained that pork was readily available with a lot of people consuming it at almost every occasion. Be it Christmas, Easter or any other occasion, the meat was consumed in large quantities.
Mr. Akorley who obviously was elated with Ghanaians obsession with pork urged the general public to go in for pork to celebrate this festive season since according to him, its good for the body.
He however urged his fellow farmers to ensure that the pigs they produce to the market are healthy and quality for the consuming public. He said the farmers should take good care of their animals to protect their pigs. According to him when they are able to rear their livestock under healthy conditions, they will also produce in large quantities.
