The Police are on the hunt for one Esther Enyornam Pekyi who is currently on the run after pouring acid on her boyfriend, Eric Ohemeng, 25, on Thursday.
News gathered that Esther poured the acid on Eric after he broke up with her.
Eric Ohemeng is in a critical condition at the 37 Military Hospital and is said to be battling for his life.
The incident occurred at Madina in Accra and the Police are searching for the suspect who has been in hiding since then.
The Public Relations Officer of the Accra Regional Police Command ASP Effia Tenge said her outfit has intensified their search for the lady.
“This lady after pouring the acid on this gentleman bolted and the police have intensified their search for her. She poured acid on him and you can see the severe bruises on his face and also some part of his body. For now the victim is in a critical condition at the 37 Military Hospital,” she said.
ASP Tenge said a taxi driver who earlier dropped the two off at Madina from North Kaneshie returned only to see the couple in a fight.
The driver said he attempted to separate the two but failed.
Another person who also attempted to separate the two was injured when the acid was poured on Eric.
“It is despicable that people will think and actually use acid as a weapon and the police will do everything possible to arrest the suspect and get to the bottom of this matter,” she stated sternly.
Eric Ohemeng is said to be a third year student at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).
