Ghana Veterinary Medical Technicians Association Issues Another Ultimatum
By Newton Ogah:
The Ghana Veterinary Medical Technicians Association (GVMTA) has sent another threat to lay down their working tools. This they attribute to what they say is the negligence of the government in handling the Association.
The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the GMVTA, Mr. Agyeman Boateng speaking on the Rite Morning Ride on Wednesday confirmed that the association will soon lay down its working tools as a result of the failure of the government to address their market premium since 2011. “Since the year 2011, government has failed to address our challenges and therefore had also paid deaf ears to our needs and policies,” he stated.
He added that, the Association shot out the threats since the 22nd of November, 2015 and that if government failed to address their concerns by the 2nd of January, 2016, then they would have no other choice then to lay down our tools.
Mr. Boateng added that, they laying down their working tools would affect the country severely since it could possibly result in the deaths of people, the influx of disease and the collapsing of many industries in the country such as the poultry industry and livestock industry as well as sea and air ports among others.
“If the government still fails to address our issue before 2nd of January, the whole veterinary technicians in the country would stop working,” he warned.
