Gari Processors Disappointed By Cassava Producers

President for the Molenovisi Gari Processers Association in the Akuapem North district in the Eastern Region, Mr. Gibrine Anagli has told Rite news that cassava farmers did not produce enough to meet the demand of the association in the past year. This he said badly affected their output since the raw material needed to produce the gari which is the cassava was not readily available.

But aside this, Mr. Anagli who was speaking on the Rite Morning Ride said they were facing brutal challenges which needed urgent attention. He mentioned dire water shortage as one of the major challenges confronting their work, adding that all efforts to get some assistance from the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, (MOFA) have yielded no fruit.

But that is not all. Mr Anagli also cited transportation issues as part of their troubles. He said drivers always disappointed them whenever they asked them to convey their cassava to the processing site.

He further noted that it’s their aim to achieve their aim to meet demand so the farmers should work hard in 2016 to produce enough cassava.
